Heirloom Afghan to Spa Face Cloths

We are working on an Heirloom Afghan that I would love to set up as a crochet-along. In the meantime, I need a space to track our progress.

This week we researched how to add quilt squares to the afghan. We scored some very pretty fabric but it's a polyester blend and we are working with cotton yarn.  The colours contrast well with the smoky wine cotton yarn.

The fusion blanket technique I was planning to use to add the material to the afghan is here.

After asking around about how to wash a cotton afghan I've decided to change the yarn to acrylic.  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE everything about working with cotton yarn but can't imagine trying to wash it...the heaviness, possible stretching and shrinkage!

Afghan squares wrapped up as Spa Face Cloth's!

By switching to acrylic yarn we can infuse the polyester squares in the afghan! Now I am excited!

Crocheted Soap on a Rope to go with our new Heirloom Wash Cloths.

The Afghan pattern (63 Easy-To-Crochet Pattern Stitches Combine to Make an Heirloom Afghan) from Walmart is here.

Feel free to share your projects and photo's on our Facebook Page.  We would sure love to see them!

Thanks for all your patience folks!
