Melted Bead Button Bowl & More D.I.Y.

by Claire

This morning my sister had her mind set on making a button bowl. We soon found out we didn't have nearly enough buttons.  We probably could have ran to the store but we are resourceful and decided to ask mom if we could make buttons.

My mom melted a bunch of pony beads into little flowers in the oven at 425 degree's for approximately 5 to 10 minutes.  We played outside while we waited to avoid the stinky smell...

Ready to bake pony beads spread out on a wax paper lined cookie sheet.

After baking we let them cool for 10 minutes...

Then added some bling.

After the flower buttons cooled we glued them with gobs and gobs of glorious glue to a tinfoil lined bowl.

While waiting for the glue to dry we crafted dangly ribbon barrettes.

And Melted Bead Paperclip Bookmarks.

The sweet flower design came from The36thavenue.

We let the glue dry on the bowl overnight.

Our finished bowl all colourful and sturdy!

It's more like a low dish (or a hat) because it was our first time and we didn't know what to expect.  Next time we will go bigger!

Please feel free to share photo's of your projects on our Facebook Page. We would love to see them.
