Glitter Crayons D.I.Y. in 3 Steps

After school today my kids made sparkly pictures with old broken down crayons and a bit of glitter.  I had my doubts the glitter would shimmer on paper but tried it anyways and was very impressed with the results.

Instructions

Step 1:  We peeled the Crayola crayon wrappers off by soaking them in hot water for a few minutes. This method removed the paper instantly.

Step 2:  The crayons were colour sorted into a designated wax only muffin tin and melted in the oven at 275 degrees for 15 minutes.

Step 3:  We scooped the melted crayons into soap molds, added a tsp. of glitter and a gave it a quick stir.

After 15 minutes the new glittery crayons were cool enough to colour a picture.

Christmas theme.

The glitter blended inside the crayons add a lot of fun to the drawings.

Feel free to share your project's on our Facebook Page.  We would love to see them!
