8 Tulle Pompom Crafts + Tutorial

Pompom Garland

Hi, we have a slight pompom-o-rama thing going on today. We started out BIG making them for an upcoming birthday party and then needed to do something with the scraps.

Pompom's are simple enough for my kids to make. I'll show you how too.  But first take a peak at the eight crafts we made in under an hour using tulle, a couple of scarfs, glue and a few household items.

Once you've made one -- I dare you to stop! They are so pretty with the light shining through them.  We added rhinestones for extra sparkle.

I worked in my mom's Floral Boutique during the summer while attending school and that's where I learned how to make pompom's  quick and easy.

Step 1
Cut two round donut shaped pieces of cardboard stock to the size you want your pompom to be.  They don't have to be perfectly round.

Step 2
Select your material (I cut two nylon scarfs up and mixed it with some white tulle).

Step 3
Thread your tulle in the center hole, wrap around the donut and thread back through the middle. Keep doing this all the way around until your donut is covered.

Step 4
Place the scissor's between the two cardboard donuts and cut the edge of the tulle being careful to leave the center tulle uncut.

Step 5
Wrap a string between the two donut pieces and tie tightly.

Step 6 Pull the cardboard donut pieces off.

Step 7 Fluff up your pompom and trim any long pieces.

We loooooooooove tulle!

...most days!

Please feel free to share photo's of your pompom projects on our Facebook Page. We would love to see them.
