Last weekend we were looking for a little adventure and headed up to a recreational gold panning site in Yale, British Columbia.
Armed with only our beach shovels and cake pans we dug in. A local gave us a tip and we quickly learned to start digging near big boulders. The gold comes down stream and gets caught under the rocks.
We took plenty of swimming breaks, climbed all the rocks...
and went rock hounding!
Here's a peak at our rock crafts!
We had a great day and plan to make this a family tradition. We all ended up catching a bit of gold rush fever!
